A Nashville Holiday Experience with Gaylord Opryland
We are only 5 days away from Christmas. Yes 5 DAYS AWAY!!! But this does not mean it is too late to enjoy a Nashville Holiday Experience with your friends and family whether you are local or visiting my great city! There are so many ways you can celebrate the holiday season in Nashville, but today I want to spotlight the perfect one stop shop for holiday fun and that is Gaylord Opryland!
As a Nashville Native, you would think that I have experienced ICE! before, but I had not until recently. Gaylord gifted me with 2 tickets, and I could not be more thankful because this year's theme featured the classic Christmas tale Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. This is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time so my excitement grew more and more as Si and I approached the entrance. The exhibit showcased larger-than-life ice sculptures that were created by 40 Chinese artisans. The masterpieces took me back to my childhood as we walked through the various scenes from the movie.
For the 21 and up crowd, On the Blocks Ice Bar will warm you up with some adult libations. You get to sample 3 different drinks: a Goose Island Beer; a Merry Margarita featuring Milagro Tequila; and my favorite The Jolly Mint specialty drink featuring Jackson Morgan Southern Cream and Hangar One Vodka.
Just outside of ICE! is what I consider a Winter carnival. You can skate on the 6,000 square foot ice rink, snow tube on a hill covered in 1.5 million pounds of real snow, or even pick up a s'mores kit and make a classic treat with your family!
With 2.3 million holiday lights, Gaylord Opryland turns their resort into the ultimate Christmas celebration. You can take a stroll around the property on a self-guided tour and marvel at the spectacularly decorated Christmas trees, and of course take photos!
If you are staying at the resort, which you should for the full experience, be sure to add Breakfast with the Grinch on your agenda! The Grinch himself from Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical will dine with you and other guests in an interactive experience that you will never forget!
If all of these fun activities weren't enough, the resort also has a gingerbread decorating corner, Build-A-Bear Workshop, The Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt, the Brightest Star Fountain Show, Treasures for the Holidays Craft Show, and the Outdoor Nativity with an audio rendition of the birth of Jesus from the Bible.
