GIRLS TRIP: EPIC HOTEL MIAMI

My two besties and I headed down south to warmer weather and palm trees for our annual girl’s trip. We have gone to Miami a few times and previously stayed on South Beach, but this year we decided to switch it up and stay downtown Miami at EPIC Hotel. I am so happy we did. EPIC Hotel is not only beautiful with some great amenities, but the customer service from check-in to check-out exceeded all of our expectations.

Upon arriving in our Lyft, we were greeted by Eduardo, one of the concierge. He assisted with our bags and held them for us because we were a few hours early for check-in. During our wait we snapped some photos of the amazing art pieces that were in the lobby then explored a little of downtown Miami and grabbed a quick bite. We returned to check-in and Eduardo assisted us to the 19th floor to our room. On the ride up on the elevator he informed us of some of the amenities offered by the hotel and mentioned that because it was Cinco de Mayo there was going to be a surprise in the lobby in the evening that we did not want to miss.

Our room was equipped with two beds, a spacious bathroom, stocked bar, and balcony which had a great view of the city and overlooked three pools! As we were taking everything in there was a knock at the door. To our surprise it was a bottle of wine and some cake pops (The cake pops were DELISH – white cake and red velvet!). We started to get ready for the surprise downstairs and for our trip to South Beach when another knock came which was a welcome bottle of champagne!!

After opening the bottle of wine and toasting to our friendship, we headed to the 16th floor and grabbed a round of margaritas at the outside bar Area 31. We then hopped on the elevator, and were completely surprised when the doors opened to the lobby because there was a Cindo de Mayo celebration taking place! Not only was a tequila and beer station set up, but there was also a mariachi band!

With all of the partying, waking up to a tasty breakfast was much needed. Area 31 offers many options for breakfast: Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict, Gluten Free Scrambled Eggs, Gluten Free Crispy Bacon, Roasted Potatoes, Waffles, an Omelet Bar and more! Of course we chose to sit outside and enjoy the rays and view while we ate and chatted.

On Saturday, we met Wolf, one of the hotel managers, and he invited us to the #OneEpicSummer Pool Party and it was indeed EPIC! Our Cabana had a great view of the ocean, and the DJs had the vibes perfect for an afternoon, rooftop pool party. We danced into the night and before we knew it, it was time to head up to the room and get changed. We all enjoy live jazz performances and art, and when we found out we could do both without leaving the hotel we decided to add it to our Saturday night agenda! We entered Lilt Lounge which is located in the lobby of the hotel to Negroni’s Jazz Quartet performing a beautiful, sultry piece.  Hanging on the walls were photography pieces from Pascal – my favorite being the Miles Davis print.

If you are going to the Miami area, I would recommend staying at the EPIC hotel in downtown Miami. It is definitely on my list of favorite hotels, and I cannot wait to visit again!
