Today is my birthday! So for the last installment of my #BlackRedefined series, I thought it would only be right to feature the woman who gave birth to me - my mom!
When I am asked who is my role model? Who do I look up to? Who do I want to be like? Only one person comes to mind, My MOM. She is a strong, black woman, and I am grateful for all of the values she has instilled in me. My mom has taught me so much over the years and has always believed in me.
Thank you. Thank you for being a great example of how a woman should act and treat others. And also for showing me how to be a strong woman and stand up for myself. You have taught me that patience is truly a virtue and though I struggle with this, I think of all of the times you have shown patience and I try my best to emulate it. You are such a hard worker and have shown me the importance of setting big goals for myself and working hard for what I want to accomplish.
Mom, thank you. Thank you for being the shoulder to cry on when I feel sad. Thank you for being my counsel when I am confused on which path to take. Thank you for being my biggest cheerleader when I accomplish not only the big goals but when I clear small hurdles too. For everything you have done for me over all my years THANK YOU.
I Love You Mom.
